5 avril 2009 à 16h56 #72840Bonsoir,
C’est pour ca :
WW2 NOS Ford GPW & Willys MB Jeep 6.00-16 Tire Chains
ORIGINAL 1943 Packed US Army Ordnance Depot CratesThis auction is for a set of FOUR [4] original unused US Army issued heavy duty 6.00-16 marked tire chains for the WW2 Ford GPW and Willys MB jeep, still packed in their June 1943 issued wooden crates from the US Ordnance Depot at Toledo, Ohio, for delivery to the Transportation Officer at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Three of these NOS crated GPW-18136-B Tire Chains are the ‘6.00-16 EX. HEAVY SINGLE PNEU.’ type manufactured by INCO [International Chain & Mfg. Co.] as depicted in the G-503 Parts List for the 1/4-TON 4×4 TRUCK (WILLYS-OVERLAND MODEL MB and FORD MODEL GPW), and are stamped ‘6.00-16 INCO’ on the chain hooks. The fourth NOS tire chain was packed in June of 1943 in the same box as one of the INCO sets by the US Ordnance Depot in the crate bearing the shipping label to the Fort Knox Transportation Officer, and is the heavy duty ‘S’ hook ‘TYPE D’ illustrated in the January 1944 SNL G-503 Parts List as both Willys Part No. WO-A-7687 and Ford Part No. FM-GPW-18136-B, stamped ‘6.00-16’ on the chain hooks.
Original tire chains are THE most scarce accessory for the WW2 jeep, and are virtually unobtainable in NOS condition. Two pairs of chains [one pair for each axle] were issued with every vehicle. These wooden crates were obtained on behalf of a military museum for display as is and had remained untouched and unopened since they were first packed by the US Army in 1943. The lids were pried open as shown to reveal their contents solely for archival purposes and photography only, after which they were resealed as originally received.
Please note that this set of four chains is being offered through more than one venue and therefore their availability may be subject to change.
Pour le prix de départ : 1.595 $ 😛 😛 😛
Amicalement,
Christophe.
